Penko Platikanov is a sculptor who specializes in both figurative and abstract sculpture. He earned his MFA from the National Academy of Art's sculpture department in Sofia, Bulgaria. Since 2000, the artist has resided in New York City. Penko's Art Studio is situated in Long Island City, Queens, a neighborhood with a vibrant art scene that includes a mix of galleries and individual artist studios.The sculptor uses a variety of media, such as bronze, terracotta, wood, stone, iron, aqua resin, and hydro stone. He has taken part in many exhibitions during his artistic career and his artwork can be seen in numerous private collections in the United States, Bulgaria, Belgium, and Italy. Penko's work in the field of sculpture restoration, decorative and architectural sculpture  could be seen on the walls and inside the interiors of many churches, theaters and governmental buildings in USA and abroad.
